History

This project is the latest in a series of transit station rehabilitations that are part of Mayor Rahm Emanuel's commitment to improving public transportation in Chicago.

The Washington/ Wabash station will become a gateway for Millennium Park and many of Chicago's downtown attractions as it continues its long history of service to the city and its visitors.

ORIGINAL CONDITIONS

The current station, built in 1896 has served the Chicago downtown loop for 120 years and is in need of significant upgrades. The new station will fully comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) making downtown more accessible for all.
